+ 2007.07.25 - Download fixed

The server the game's installer was hosted on was down for a while, so we're now hosting the download right here, on our own dedicated server.

To answer a few questions we got over these two years:

1) No, we weren't all killed in an airplane accident on the way to E3. This game was a student graduation project, and after we completed it (and graduated), we've all more or less moved on to other things. Only one of us is working in the video game field now.

2) No, we're not ready to release the sources for the game yet (if ever), so please don't ask.

3) As it should be clear from answer 1, there isn't going to be a Linux/Mac OS X/NetBSD/IRIX version any time soon.

Other than that, thanks a lot to those who wrote in with compliments and encouragements. It's awesome to still get positive reactions more than two years after release.

TeamBR, out.

+ 2004.11.08 - New screenshots!

As promised yesterday, here are some screenshots from the version that we presented last friday.

More new screenshots in the multimedia section.

+ 2004.11.07 - Presentation to 4th year students

Last friday we (along with others graduating projects teams) had a presentation of our project to 4th year students (we're in 5th year). The presentation went really well, and our booth had a lot of visitors. We've shown a working multiplayer game with three players racing around on the same track. The game was amazingly stable, and besides a few bugs everything went smoothly. Here are some pictures we too. New screenshots from the presentation version (including the new track) coming tomorrow!

+ 2004.10.20 - The Return

So, no updates for a while. But that doesn't mean we've been slacking off. We've redeveloped some of Overdrive's core components, and progressed towards our objectives some more. Actually, this whole time we haven't been updating, we've been working :P

Our friends at Creapole have made some good progress as well, as you can see in the multimedia section, with the addition of some concept and 3D art there. They've also put together a little exposition at Paris' 1st District's Town Hall, and there was a little "Overdrive Corner". Here are some pics.

On november 5th, we're holding a presentation for 4th year students. We'll keep you updated.

+ 2004.07.29 - TeamBR on vacation

Most of TeamBR will be taking august off from the development of Overdrive to relax and enjoy summer. Development will resume in september, with the use of a new networking library.

After talks with our friends at Creapole, we've decided to postpone the demo until we're confident it's good enough to make people interested in Overdrive. The next planified release date for the demo is november 2004!

+ 2004.07.16 - New website online

The new and improved website for the Overdrive project is now online (and you're looking at it right now :P)

Feel free to explore, and please let us know what you think.

The demo is coming as soon as possible after our presentation tomorrow.

+ 2004.06.22 - News update

The development of Overdrive continues. A demo can be expected to be posted around July 17th, when the game will be presented for evaluation to the professors of EPITECH in charge of the project. By the time the demo is ready, a full website will also be made public.

We are also happy to report that we've enlisted the help of a dozen students from Creapole, a french design school. Their job will be to produce visual content for the game, ranging from character models to textures to game maps. They will be assisted by three of their professors, guaranteeing quality content for Overdrive.

That's all for now, see you in July!

+ 2004.03.23 - Forums Open

The Overdrive forums are now open to the public. Ask your questions, make your suggestions and talk with the team members!

+ 2004.03.16 - Website Online

The Overdrive Project website is online. Not much to see for now, stay tuned for further developments.

Please take a look at the TeamBR website meanwhile.
